Because of the big delay in updating the web site I will try to
summerize the last year and a half.
The 2009/2010 season was a difficult one for Rayngold.
The new management of the racing stables was not ideal and
the results were not good.
Peter Bullock from Tamworth accepted the management
roll and arrived in April and things picked up from there.
We recorded forty seven wins during the season.
The star was SHANNONSACHRISTIAN who won 6 races
for Peter Bullock.
SCHMOKIN SHANNON recorded another 8 wins in Canada,
while SCMICK SHANNON won 3 and CLANCY SHANNON won 4 races.
The only 2yr olds to win were LACY SHANNON and STEALTHY SHANNON, both
winning at the end of the season
following Peters arrival.
The 800th Rayngold win was recorded by CLANCY SHANNON at Bathurst.
On the breeding front the results were below average.We attempted to put 34 mares in foal and
achieved 27. But we only got 18 live foals.
KATE SHANNON retired from racing and went to the "Breeding Barn". Syndicate members
Mark McNamara and Darren Leach enjoyed their involvent in the Mare.
KATE SHANNON went out with a bang and time trialled at Menangle in a 1.54.7 mile rate, a fantastic effort.
Well done Kate.
CHLOE SHANNON was awarded the BATHURST JUVENILE HORSE OF THE YEAR .Her race record for the season was 7
wins and 2 seconds. CHLOE continued to race in the 2010/2011 season winning a further 4 races and recording a 1.59.8 mile
rate and has now joined the Shannon Springs Broodmare Band.
Rayngold was the 2009 Owner of the year at Tamworth
for the second successive season thanks to the efforts of the Enks Family.
The New South Wales Standardbred Owners Association was formed in September 2009. Peter was
elected President and Marie is on the Committee.

There were 19 foals born in 2009. One died from snake bite leaving 18 being transferred to Bathurst
to be broken in.

Because the ratio of fillies to colts was so different we purched 8 yearlings fillies giving
Peter and the team a more balanced group of youngsters to work with. The yearlings purched were

The total number of wins in 2009/2010 was 47 with 21 of these wins achieved in the April to
August period following the arrival of Peter Bullock to Shannon Lodge. There were 23 individual winners with 20 of these being

The 2010/2011season has seen a continual improvement in the results from the race track. Peter
Bullock and his team have proressively lifted the performance of the race horses.
The development of Max Hughes has been something to watch. Apart from his growing skills as
a driver, he has been the backbone of the stable, reliable, hardworking and totally supportive of Peter Bullock.
Peter is doing an excellent job at Bathurst and is supported admirably by his partner Ros Costigan.
Rayngold joined forces with Yirribee Stud in the purchase of Little Brown Jug winner MILLIONDOLLARCAM
.The horse stood at Wagga and served 103 mares.
